My 'For Sale' Tortoises in West Sussex UK
Our 2011 & 2010 Juveniles.
2 batches of our 2011 eggs have hatched - 1 further batch still to hatch!
See our Tortoise PicturesI
have been breeding the 3 European species (and sub species) for over 20
years here in the UK with great success, indeed there was a time in the
early 90's when I had over 70 hatchlings and juveniles under the age of
5 - an absolute nightmare! - Never again, so I now sell my juveniles
once they are old enough to be re-homed. At least the sales off-set
the expensive care, food and so on.
My tortoises are all Licensed
under EC Regulation 3626/82 by DEFRA (with the yellow UK issued Form
FED 0698) and my adult stock are also microchipped. All hatchling
tortoises are sold with the official
DEFRA issued UK License.
Polite Warning:
Do not purchase a tortoise from a pet shop (even a large national
chain), it is likely to be a 'grey import' from Central Europe where
hatchlings are harvested, imported into the UK and 'given' Licenses, as
if they were breed in this country. Then passed off as 'Home Bred'.
'Home Bred' indeed - but where is home and under what conditions were
they breed? These tortoises will take years to acclimatise to the UK
environment and are liable for a number of years to succumb to sudden
death syndrome.
Every year we hatch between 20 - 60 tortoises of
both sexes in our state of the art incubators. These hatchlings are
raised in the very latest environmentally friendly conditions.
I
am able to transport purchases to clients in the South of England or
arrange a meeting place half way. For clients living outside of this
area, alternative arrangements have to be made. Unfortunately due to
obvious security measures I am not prepared to release my actual
address particulars (I have had many bad experiences). If you are new to the idea of tortoise keeping you may find that our
tortoise resource page contains some helpful links.
If you are interested in buying a Tortoise - Please email me.
My 2010 Hatchlings are now ready for their new homes yet - £120 each or £200 for a pair.I am also willing to barter / exchange for marginated or spur-thighed juveniles.
